Fare Better at the Bar: Fancy Eats at Reasonable Prices

At 2941 Restaurant, you can nosh on octopus tempura or mini- wagyu burgers at the bar. Executive chef Bertrand Chemel also created a $30 bar tasting menu of three courses.
"We wanted to offer something for people who want to have a beer and a sandwich, while the tasting menu is a taste of the dinner menu," said Chemel, who noted that the recession has inspired many affordable menus.
"People want to try a restaurant, but they can't try all the food," he said. "With a bar menu, you can keep trying new food without spending hundreds of dollars."
