The "Eye Scream" Returns

Pastry Chef Anthony Chavez is once again brewing up his whimsical Halloween dessert the entire month of October. Available during dinner only, this bone-chilling confection features Valrhona white chocolate, pistachio mousse and raspberry-lychee coulis, presented on a bed of dry ice to resemble a pair of smoking eyeballs. This frighteningly festive dish is priced at $15 (or as a $10.00 supplement on any Prix Fix menu).

Experience the Kitchen Table at 2941

The 2941 Kitchen Table offers guests a front row seat to all the culinary action. Chef Bertrand Chemel and his team enjoy the challenge of creating an elegant, spontaneous tasting menu for kitchen guests using seasonal ingredients purchased from the market that day. At times, they use ingredients off the main dining room menu prepared in a different way, other days the menu is completely extemporaneous from start to finish.  Spending an afternoon or evening meal at the Kitchen Table guarantees a memorable dining experience.

With our new fall menu, our relaxed dress code and only a two person minimum, the Kitchen Table at 2941 is now more approachable than ever!

Lunch:  4-courses with wine pairings, $105 per person

Dinner:  6-courses with wine pairings, $185 per person

Dress code is business casual, no coat or tie required.  Kitchen table reservations are based on availability.  Maximum seating is eight and minimum seating is two.

Recipe Of The Month
English Toffee 
Serves 8 - 10 (but Pastry Chef Anthony chavez warns he could eat the entire batch!)

Ingredients:
1 pound butter
14 ounces sugar
3 ounces water
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 pinch salt
1 pound almonds
1 pound semisweet chocolate

Method:

Toasting the Nuts:

  • Chop and toast the almonds. 
  • Cool to room temperature.

Cooking the Toffee:

  • Boil the butter, sugar, water, vanilla, salt, stirring constantly until you have reached a medium caramel color. 
  • Remove from the heat, pour onto a 26x15 inch piece of parchment and spread quickly. 
  • Cool completely.

Finishing the Toffee:

  • Melt the chocolate
  • Spread half of the chocolate on the toffee. 
  • Cover with half of the toasted almonds.  Place another sheet pan on top thFlip and repeat. 
  • Break the toffee into pieces.
